The project aims to implement and configure a fully functional web server environemnt using Infrastructure as a Server (IaaS). The chose platform for this project is Microsoft Azure, specifically utilizing an Azure Virtual Machine (VM). The core objecive of this project is to build a robust website from group up using different chosen services.
This project will start from Azure Virtual machine running Ubunte 24.04 LTS. Initial server setup will involved essential security hardening, such as configuring SSH key-based authentication and setting up firewall rules, restrict access to necessary ports (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH). The apache web server is being installed and configured via the command-line interface with access to the terminal of the user device directly communicating to the server.
This project addresses the unit learning outcomes, provided with a simple and basic HTML website, consist of how the project was being build, what are the instances being used to run it successfully. This method was being considered beside squarespace, as it will allow me to full developed hands on skill and experience. This provides a good example in the field of server environment and its branches.
The subject itself provides a good insight how server works, website access, authenticatoin and security. This allows a good perspective of the project and plans in the future.
